i love your gf hmmmhmmm
Hi Guys you mentioned doing a second vid for those of us who live in the colder climes like u.k talking about heat exchangers and anti freeze glycol and stuff, i wonder have you done it yet. how can i find it
Umm, that car port roof is not very stable, it was shaking when you put the empty tubing on it.
Have you thought of separating them a little more for more light exposure? Also maybe putting them in a mirror box would give them that much more light exposure.
Also, I was thinking you could kill two birds with one stone by rigging your dryer vent back through to inside your home (using filtration of course) and ALSO putting part of the hose through this so there is that much more help to heat the water before it goes into the heater tank.
@duckunter looks for hoses labeled “potable water” or “drinking water” they’re everywhere now
thats really great thanks………………..
Could you use any kind of hose/piping and cover it with black sheeting?
Very creative!
Solar water heating for pools has some market penetration primarily because of Cowboys making a sale and doing a minor install. The competition was/is only pool water heaters! Public companies like Envision Solar (evsi) take on the electric companies and help form the infrastructure for solar power for electric cars, businesses with parking. Residential is huge and until we are closer to grid parity making a solar investment is for personal use the rich and the GREEN.

What about building a grid of black pvc pipes connected by elbows? Seems to me that you could get more length of pipe on your roof that way.
How common are electric hot water heaters in Florida. At least for us in California, gas hot water heaters are very cheap to operate.
Could I use something similar to this to heat a pool (5,000 gallons)? I realize it wouldn’t be able to drastically change the temperature, but getting in a pool that’s even a couple degrees warmer would be great.
Thank you for sowing us how to do this project. One thing though. I am sure in part one Denise said we were to watch her take a shower. So um. get on with it. lol
Well done.
Exelente video gracias por compartirlo
scheisse
so about how much energy does this system actually contribute to your hot water? does this take more than half the load off of the hot water heater?
fuck u
wow. did you think of using the sun for heat all by yourself? idiot.
this is hot idea. but your water gets cold when it rains
@DvaisKila “this is hot idea. but your water gets cold when it rains”
.
It only suppliments his conventionally heated home hotwater supply.
It means the thermostatically controlled water heater inside their house doesn’t have to expend so much energy – its all about small incremental advantages that add up to an efficient system.
Great vid but still no shower seen…
What is the blue thing in place of mercury, in the thermometer at 5:41?
much better than part 1
This is a great video, and very instructive. I will be installing something similar in the near future.
It would be exponentially fabulous if you guys did a video adding the coil to a conventional water heater, in a closed system, using no electricity, gas, or battery backup. I have been trying to visualize this from printed instructions, but am not getting there.
Cheers!
I love it
