Solar Power Systems
Welcome to solar power systems, here we investigate the uses and the ‘how to’ aspects of solar energy. The use of solar power and solar power systems is growing every day. More of us are realizing that this is a sustainable solution to our energy needs and as a result putting less pressure on natural resources. Solar energy is being used in a variety of applications both residential and commercially.
The main uses of solar power in a home situation include, solar panels for electricity generation, solar water heaters, solar heating for pools. In the garden we have solar lighting and solar fountain use. We also have RV solar panels to reduce the load on rv batteries.
Solar power systems in the garden and for landscaping are a great innovation. The use of mains power outdoors is always a safety concern, with solar powered lights the safety issue is no longer a problem they are simple to install and come on automatically when darkness creeps in. Great also for security as we now have low power LED spot lights that require very little battery power.
Most of us realize the benefits of solar panels, with an average lifespan of 25 years the returns by far outweighs the initial cost of solar panels. Getting set up is still costly and there are solutions to installing solar power systems being promoted online in different ways.
Buying a complete system and having it fully installed by an approved contractor is the most expensive way to install solar power. Here you get the benefits of getting things done quickly and hopefully safely. You should also get a full warranty on the panels and inverter.
Diy solar panels. There are a lot of promotions online for products that offer Diy solar panels. This is not a good solution for full home power generation. The issue here is that home built panels will not likely comply with any electrical codes and will likely fail in a very short time. Commercial panels are vacuum sealed which is not something a diy job can do. However the diy approach is fine for small projects such as powering a small shed or building battery chargers and the like.
Solar power Kits. This is a great way to get started with solar power systems if you are on a budget. There are many different options here allowing you to start small and gradually build up to a fully self sustaining power system. The panels are professionally constructed and in most cases have a warranty.
